Here is a look at states with the most and the fewest clean energy jobs in 2007 and the percentage of growth from 1998 to 2007 as identified in a new study by The Pew Charitable Trusts:

States with highest number of jobs:
California, 125,390, up 7.7 percent
Texas, 55,646, up 15.5 percent
Pennsylvania, 38,763, down 6.2 percent
Ohio, 35,267, up 7.3 percent
New York, 34,363, down 1.9 percent
States with the fewest number of jobs:
Wyoming, 1,419, up 56.4 percent
South Dakota, 1,636, up 93.4 percent
North Dakota, 2,112, up 30.9 percent
