Chris Rivera to lead biotechnology group

The Seattle-based Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association has named Chris Rivera as its new president.

Seattle Times business reporter

Chris Rivera will be the new president of the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association, the Seattle-based organization said today.

Rivera helped found Hyperion Therapeutics, a Bay Area biotech firm, and served as its chief executive until earlier this year. He will start his term Jan. 1, replacing Jack Faris, who announced his departure in May for personal reasons after leading the organization for four years.
