Still spending: Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in South Korea today the company won't reduce spending during this tough economic time. Microsoft plans to boost annual operating expenses by about $3 billion in its current fiscal year, though about $1 billion less than it forecast in July.

Across the pond: Budget airline Ryanair is drawing up plans for trans-Atlantic flights as cheap as 10 euros ($12.70) before taxes, CEO Michael O'Leary was quoted as saying in an interview published Sunday in Britain's News of the World tabloid. The Irish airline would fly from Dublin and London to New York, Florida, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston, he said.

TiVo-Netflix alliance: Home entertainment trendsetters Netflix and TiVo are finally joining forces to deliver more movies and old TV episodes to their mutual subscribers, sealing a relationship that was to come together four years ago. Starting in December, the latest generation of TiVo's digital video recorders will be able to beam selections from 12,000 movies and TV shows offered through Netflix's streaming service.

MTV deal: MySpace and Auditude plan to announce a partnership today with MTV Networks that will let ads be placed in videos of the network's shows that users can upload to MySpace.

Blu-ray price cuts: Electronics makers and retail chains are slashing prices of Blu-ray players to boost adoption of the high-definition movie format. Entry-level Blu-ray players have dropped from $400 to below $230 and analysts think they could fall below $150 for the holidays.

China aviation: Commercial Aircraft, the state-controlled plane maker, won an order for 25 ARJ21 planes from General Electric's leasing unit, its first overseas deal. The 70-seater is a key part of China's plans to develop its domestic aerospace industry and compete with Boeing and Airbus. The ARJ21 has so far won 208 orders. China intends to make a 150-seater plane by 2020
