Architecture/design: Gary Mueller was promoted to director at EHS Design.

Engineering: Jeff Peacock was promoted to president and chief executive of Parametrix, Auburn.

Health care: Dr. Melissa Gagrica, Dr. Christian Herter and Dr. William Callahan were hired at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Dr. Pearl Ren and Dr. Andrew Somlyo Jr. joined The Polyclinic. Dr. Emily Cooper joined Northwest Hospital & Medical Center.

Technology: Adam Goldblatt was named chief operating officer at Big Canvas. Crystal Kilborn joined Lighthouse Document Technologies as manager of the electronic discovery team.

Construction: Grant Larsen, president of Express Construction, was elected chairman of the board of Associated Builders & Contractors of Western Washington.

Restaurants: John Broulette was hired as executive chef, Steve Cain as chef de cuisine and David Scherling as general manager at El Gaucho Bellevue.

Retail: Scott Hutsenpiller was hired as vice president, outerwear design and Jean Park as divisional vice president, men's merchandising at Eddie Bauer, Bellevue.

Services: Susan Webber was named human-resources consultant at Baldwin Resource Group, Bellevue.
