The following recalls have been announced:
-About 25,000 Apeks second stage scuba regulators, manufactured in England by Apeks Marine Equipment Ltd. and distributed by Aqua Lung America, because the diaphragm cover can be missing. That would allow water to enter the regulator and pose a serious risk of drowning. No incidents have been reported. The regulators were sold by authorized Apeks dealers around the country between February 2000 and June 2008. Details: by phone at 877-253-3483; by Web at http://www.aqualung.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
-About 600,000 Simplicity cribs were recalled Wednesday because the crib's drop side could detach and create a gap, posing an entrapment and suffocation hazard to a baby. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and SFCA, the firm that purchased the assets of Reading, Pa.-based Simplicity Inc., are aware of nine reports of the drop side detaching, but no reports of injuries.
The cribs were sold between January 2005 and August 2008 by stores nationwide including AAFES, Babies "R" Us, Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot, K's Merchandise, Meijer, Nebraska Furniture Mart, ShopKo, Target and Wal-Mart.
Recalled model numbers include 8620, 8745, 8748, 8755, 8756, 8778, 8810 and 8994; recalled model names are Aspen and Crib N Changer Combo, Gabrielle, Camille, Providence and Shenandoah.
