Humana to pay $750,000 to resolve Wis. complaints

Humana Insurance Co. has agreed to pay the state of Wisconsin $750,000 to settle complaints about its marketing and other practices.

MADISON, Wis. —

Humana Insurance Co. has agreed to pay the state of Wisconsin $750,000 to settle complaints about its marketing and other practices.

Insurance Commissioner Sean Dilweg says the settlement will protect seniors from problems related to the company's aggressive marketing of its Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D products.

He says it also resolves long-standing complaints about the company's handling of claims, customer service and underwriting practices.

The company denies any wrongdoing in the settlement, but state regulators say it has agreed to correct problems they identified.
