Public-safety career fair
Northwest public-safety agencies are seeking applicants for police officer, deputy sheriff, firefighter, paramedic, corrections and juvenile-detention officers, 911 dispatchers and communications officers. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. S.W., Lynnwood. Poll workers wanted
King County Elections is looking for nearly 4,000 poll workers to work throughout the county on Nov. 4.
Poll workers work from 6 a.m. until closing, around 10 p.m., and are responsible for opening and closing the polls and issuing ballots to voters. Workers receive a three-hour, paid training before Election Day, and will earn around $125 for their service on Nov. 4.
Bilingual-speaking poll workers are especially needed to provide language assistance to Chinese voters with limited English proficiency.
