Seattle area
Banking: Richard Blacharski was hired to manage Sterling Savings Bank's Alderwood branch.
Colleges/universities: Dr. Hunter Wessells was promoted to chairman of the Department of Urology and Dr. James Davis was named chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Consulting: Mike Florence was named director of technology at Cypress Consulting.
Communications: John Engber was named senior vice president at Strategies 360.
Construction: Gary Gunderson joined Golder Construction Services as Seattle operations manager.
Law: Margarita Morrow, Charles Newton, Jada Quinn and Ruth Walters joined Cairncross & Hempelmann. Bryan Anderson joined Stoel Rives. Michael Herbst joined Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt as a shareholder.
Marketing: Kirsten Bell was appointed account director and Erin Petrie account manager at Hadley Green Creates.
Senior housing: Jennifer Bachhuber was named housing director at Providence Vincent House.
Technology: Mary Godwin was named vice president of operations at Isilon Systems.

Health care: Tom Martin was appointed senior vice president of strategic and support services, Sherry Grindeland was named media and communications coordinator and Patti Sheehan was named vice president of human resources at Evergreen Healthcare, Kirkland.

Hospitality: Shaun Tucker was appointed general manager of Willows Lodge, Woodinville.
Manufacturing: Thomas Latham joined Greenwood Technologies, Bellevue, as the chief operating officer.
