Seattle area

Banking: Barrie Macdonald joined EvergreenBank as chief-lending officer.

Colleges: Stephen Smith was named vice president for human resources and legal affairs, Tonya Drake vice president of student success and Daryl Campbell vice president of administrative services at Shoreline Community College.

Conferences: Franz von Bradsky was named chairman of the Northwest Growth Financing Conference, to be held in Seattle Aug. 7.

Family services: Eve Ruff was appointed chemical-dependency specialist and addiction-recovery coordinator at Jewish Family Service.

Financial services: Russell Schmidtke joined the Carkonen-Acarregui Group at Smith Barney as a financial adviser.

Foundations: Lisa Jaguzny was hired by the Campion Foundation as the executive director.

Public relations: John Beale joined Weber Shandwick as executive vice president of the global-technology practice.

Restaurants: Mark Linden was hired as executive chef at Spencer's for Steaks and Chops, SeaTac.

Retail: Becky Berndt was hired as inventory and production manager and Noelle Kastning as customer-service and operations manager at Chelsey Henry. Darin Theophilus was appointed store manager of the Federal Way Top Food & Drug.

Wireless technology: Todd Achilles joined TravellingWave's advisory board, assisting management in product-marketing strategies.
