Women CEOs

Women in the Northwest still are a long way off from matching men atop the corporate ladder.

Hillary Clinton came close to shattering the glass ceiling during her bid to become U.S. president, but women in the Northwest still are a long way off from matching men atop the corporate ladder. Only eight of the Northwest's 140 publicly traded companies have women as CEOs. And only one woman, Safeco's Paula Rosput Reynolds, was among the 20 top-paid CEOs last year. Here's a look at the eight women CEOs and the value of their 2007 pay packages.

CEO Company Total compensation
Paula Rosput Reynolds Safeco $5,573,206
Peggy Fowler Portland General Electric 2,206,439
Colleen Brown Fisher Communications 1,203,396
