Boeing will give an update on the status of its much-delayed 787 Dreamliner at 8 a.m. Seattle time Wednesday, the company said today.

Scott Carson , Boeing Commercial CEO, and Pat Shanahan, general manager for the 787 program, will conduct the briefing, which will be available as a webcast.

Major customers have said in the past month that they expect a substantial further delay in the plane's first flight and first delivery.
