Seattle area
Art: Jennifer Aydelott was appointed director of development at the Seattle Art Museum.
Banking: May-Ling Sowell joined 1st Security Bank of Washington as compliance officer, Mountlake Terrace. John Vandenberg was named chief financial officer at Shoreline Bank.
Biotechnology: Dr. Consuelo Blosch was appointed vice president of clinical and regulatory and Dan Allison senior director of therapeutic design at VLST.
Commercial real estate: Steve Brunette was hired as director of investment sales at Cushman & Wakefield of Washington.
Communications: Megan Averell, Natalia Barolin, Sonia Bouska and Barb Taub were hired at DDB.
Engineers: Jill Connell and Klaus Tilla were named associates at CDi Engineers, Lynnwood.
Health care: Dr. Michael Soung, Dr. Minori Yoshioka, Dr. Lily Chang, Dr. Antoine Jones, Dr. Sue Mystkowski and Dr. Heidi Shors joined Virginia Mason Medical Center.
Insurance: Alison Talbot was named senior vice president of human resources and administration at Physicians Insurance A Mutual Company.
Law: Leonard Feldman of Heller Ehrman was elected chairman of the King County Bar Association Appellate Practice Section. James Hanken and Marissa Alkhazov joined Wolfstone Panchot & Bloch.
Marketing: Ross Cattelin was hired as interactive design director and Marilyn Orozco copy/production editor and project coordinator at Hadley Green Creates.
Retail: Carlos Escobar was named vice president/operations and Anita Oswald regional merchandise manager for Home at Macy's.

Wildlife: Doug Howell was named regional executive director of the National Wildlife Federation's Seattle office.
Eastside
Insurance: Kim Bartos was promoted to Northwest Region assistant field vice president at Allstate Insurance, Bothell.
Software: Matt Scheuing was appointed president at Orrtax Software Solutions, Bellevue.
