One month out from the rollout of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner on July 8 in Everett, the razzamatazz is growing louder.
Boeing announced Friday that the gala event will be emceed by former "NBC Nightly News" anchor Tom Brokaw.
A crowd of 15,000 people will attend at the Everett plant. Another 30,000 are expected to participate via giant screens from the major 787 partner sites in Italy, Japan, and locations around the U.S., including Wichita, Kan., and Charleston, SC.
The ceremony will be broadcast live at 38 sites worldwide, including Qwest Field in Seattle, where 50,000 Boeing employees and retirees will watch on the stadium screens.
Other venues include a cruise ship in the waters of Puget Sound; a large barn at a horse racetrack in London, England; and outdoor picnics at two U.S. partner sites.
A colorful line of flight attendants representing the 45 airlines that have ordered the 787 will participate in the ceremony.
