International Speedway, a Daytona Beach, Fla., track developer that is considering building a track for NASCAR and other motor races in Washington, has invited representatives from the state and Snohomish and Kitsap counties to visit its headquarters during the week of the Daytona 500, scheduled for Feb. 15.

The offer has been accepted. A similar delegation traveled to the Kansas Speedway last fall.

David Talley, an International Speedway spokesman, said the company is looking at fewer than 20 sites in Washington and Oregon.

Snohomish County leaders have promoted land near Monroe and between Arlington and Marysville to the company over the past three months, as well as a site near Darrington.

Taco Time offering coupon books to nonprofits for use as fund-raiser

EVERETT — Fast-food chain Taco Time is soliciting local nonprofit groups to participate in its "Ned's Coupon Book" fund-raising program.

Interested groups must contact the company by Feb. 16 and prove their nonprofit status. If selected, they will get free coupon books, which they can then sell for $1 apiece to raise money for their organizations. Each booklet contains $5 worth of coupons for Taco Time food.

The company says its coupon books have helped nonprofits raise $200,000 for youth programs over seven years. Information: 425-226-6656, Ext. 216.
