Statement from Alan Mulally to employees
Boeing Leadership Changes On Monday Boeing announced that after careful consideration and with sadness our board of directors had accepted Phil Condit's resignation. Boeing named Lew Platt as non-executive chairman, and Harry Stonecipher as president and CEO.
Lew and Harry are proven leaders and we welcome them to their new leadership roles for Boeing. I am so pleased with their belief in and support of Commercial Airplanes and our team. Lew and Harry really understand the importance to our airline customers of continuously improving our products and services, including our exciting new 7E7.
We also extend our deepest appreciation and respect to Phil Condit for nearly four decades of service to Boeing, our customers, and our industry. Phil's legacy will be a lasting one, as he contributed to every Boeing jet airplane program from the 707 to the 777. Phil's vision and strategy, and belief in us, to build the very best aerospace company in the world have set the course for a very bright future for our Boeing. Phil . . . thank you . . . we will implement your vision and make you proud.
As we move forward, we do so with the full support of our company leadership. We have a tremendous team that has achieved so much together. Our focus on the very best airplanes and services that provide our customers with ever-increasing quality and productivity will continue to be the key to our success.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is about something so very special - bringing people and ideas together through a safe and efficient global air transportation system. We remain dedicated to our customers' success. Each of us has the opportunity to contribute to our vision. I ask you to join me in a renewed commitment to create the future for all of us.
Thank you.
Alan
