Seattle film curator writes David Lynch bio

Everything you ever wanted to know about David Lynch is included in Seattleite Greg Olson's new book.

"David Lynch: Beautiful Dark" By Greg Olson (ScarecrowPress/Rowman&Littlefield,733pp.,$49.95). This weighty, worshipful critical biography of the film director ("Blue Velvet," "Mulholland Drive") has been many years in the making. Olson, the film curator at the Seattle Art Museum, seems to have read every article on and interview with Lynch from the past four decades, and he's conducted a number of interviews of his own as well, including personal talks with Lynch himself. Along with biographical data, the book provides detailed plot synopses of each Lynch film, along with analyses of how the films work and scoops on the production deals/challenges behind them. The book is definitely aimed more at readers already deeply immersed in Lynch, rather than newcomers to his work.
