Bellevue picks department veteran as fire chief
Posted by Nicole Tsong
The city has picked long-time fire veteran Mike Eisner to take over as Bellevue Fire Department's new chief, city manager Steve Sarkozy said today.
Eisner, who has been with the department for 35 years, has been serving as interim chief since the fall when Chief Mario Trevino retired for medical reasons.
Eisner will oversee 244 fire department personnel, who serve Bellevue and six nearby communities, including Beaux Arts Village, Medina and Newcastle. The city also provides advanced life-support medical services, or Medic One, for about 300 square miles.
In his two decades of positions in senior management, Eisner has commanded the fire department's Bureau of Support Services, Training Division and the Bureau of Operations, the city said. He graduated from the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program.
