Bellevue City Council appoints member to replace Noble

Posted by Nicole Tsong

The Bellevue City Council appointed former two-term council member Mike Creighton on Monday night to fill the council seat once held by council member Phil Noble, the city said.

Noble died unexpectedly June 21 from complications from a blood disorder. He was 62.

The council seat will be on the November ballot, with an August filing deadline, the city said.

Creighton is a former financial services and insurance executive who was first elected to the council in 1996 and served as mayor from 1998 to 2000. He was re-elected in 2000. He also served on the school board for eight years, including as president.
