ArtsPage
The Seattle area is home to a vibrant arts scene — there's always something going on in theaters, concert halls, galleries, museums. How to keep up? ArtsPage will showcase work by some of The Seattle Times' expert fine-arts writers, to help you navigate local art offerings. We'll include news, observations, images, humor, links and ways for you to join the conversation, too.
It's Mozart month
The more you read about Mozart, the more you feel like a slacker. A composer from the age of 5, he managed to write more than 600 pieces of music during his too-short life. So it's only fitting that we celebrate his 256th birthday during his entire birth month -- January.
KING FM 98.1 will play at least one piece by Mozart every hour, 24 hours a day, through Jan. 31. A highlight: you can hear all the Mozart symphonies in order, one per hour, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Jan. 10-14.
On Jan. 27, toast Wolfgang at a Town Hall party (Chocolates!) that will include performances of Adagio in B Minor for Piano, K. 540 and Piano Quartet in G Minor, K. 478 (played in the video below by students of the Colburn School).
