Hilary Hahn, Valentina Lisitsa

Posted by Melissa Davis

Last night's recital by Hilary Hahn and Valentina Lisitsa (dynamic duo, indeed!) had a bit of a history-making air about it. The gracious Hahn announced she'd played with the performance order of the works, and we'd hear the new works she'd commissioned as part of her "encores" project throughout the evening. Seattle was one of the first cities to hear the 13 works, commissioned by Hahn as part of a set of 27 from well-known names from around the world. What if every concert were a little bit surprising?

Did you go to the concert last night? What did you think? Leave us a comment. Read Melinda Bargreen's review here.
