New Urban Eats Rules
1. No purchase or Internet access necessary to play. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. The Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 is open to Washington state residents only and contestants must be 21 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
2. Employees and immediate family members (dependents under IRS rules), affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies of The Seattle Times Company, the participating restaurants, Quil Ceda Village and all sponsors associated with the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 are not eligible. The Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 is governed by the laws of the United States and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
3. One weekly winner for four weeks will be randomly selected at noon on January 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2009. Each weekly winner will receive one (1) dinner-for-two gift certificate from a New Urban Eats participating restaurant (total value $100 each). Prize drawings will be conducted at The Seattle Times Company, 1000 Denny Way, Seattle, WA 98109. Winners will be notified via e-mail. Prizes must be accepted as awarded; no substitutions. Prizes are nontransferable and nonrefundable. All other costs (including, but not limited to, taxes, expenses, incidentals, etc.) are the responsibility of the winners. Winners must respond to a congratulatory e-mail within 48 hours and provide a means to receive the prize by mail or at The Seattle Times at 1120 John Street, Seattle, WA 98109.
4. Enter by filling in a form at seattletimes.com or send a 3x5 card to The Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009, c/o 1120 John St., Seattle, WA 98109. The card must have your full proper name, full mailing address, age, birth date, phone, e-mail address (if you have one) and authorization that you are 21 years of age or older with a signature for entering your name into the random drawing. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All entries must be postmarked each Friday by noon for the drawing held that week; late entries will be disqualified.
5. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Prize packages will be mailed within 6 to 8 weeks. Entrants agree to release The Seattle Times Company and all of its programs and sponsors associated with the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 from any and all liability resulting from participation in the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009. Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release The Seattle Times Company and all of its programs, officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors and advertising agencies from all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prizes.
6. Only one entry per person per week, please. Additional entries from one person in one week will result in disqualification of that additional entry.
7. Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes, liabilities and forms associated with each prize. The Seattle Times Company and all of its programs and all sponsors associated with the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 reserve the right to require any forms for eligibility, release of liability, prize acceptance and/or tax purposes within 14 days of notification. Noncompliance within 14 days may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. The Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 commissioners at The Seattle Times Company, which are final on all matters pertaining to the Seattle Times New Urban Eats January Giveaway 2009.
8. The Seattle Times Company is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected e-mail or mail or any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for any reason the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 cannot be completed as planned, the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 can be canceled, terminated, modified or suspended at any time for any reason by the aforementioned sponsors.
9. Entrants agree to release The Seattle Times Company and all of its programs and all sponsors associated with the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 from any and all liability resulting from participation in the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 or use of any prize won. Entrants further consent to release to the aforementioned companies the use of each winner's proper name, city and state for purposes of advertising online and in print or any other media or trade in connection with the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009 without further compensation. The aforementioned companies further reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Seattle Times New Urban Eats Giveaway January 2009, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
