Live festival photos from our phones and Flickr account:
Grynch
Photo by Alan Berner / The Seattle Times
Grynch at #Bumbershoot: sentimental, unpretentious raps about short pants, little league, sandwiches and Ballard.
Star Anna & The Laughing Dogs
Photo of Justin Davis, Star Anna & The Laugh Dogs guitarist and vocalist, by Alan Berner
Pearl Jam's Mike McCready onstage w Star Anna for "Wolves in Disguise," can't help ripping huge guitar solo. http://twitpic.com/2la67i
Wheedle's Groove
Photo by Jonathan Zwickel / The Seattle Times via Twitpic
Wheedle's Groove documentary outtakes at siff cinema -- tantalizing bits of Seattle's history.
Mayor McGinn asking Wheedle's crowd to remember the 60s/70s for music and also civil rights at #Bumbershoot.
Wheedle's Groove is the feel-good-est feel-good music you'll hear all weekend. Here's Pat Wright and choir on "Little Love Affair."
The Maldives

Photo by Jonathan Zwickel / The Seattle Times via Twitpic
Gotta be one of the biggest crowds @theMaldives have played to. They're killing "Blood on the Highway." #bshoot http://twitpic.com/2lasly
Visqueen
This just in: Visqueen once opened for Corey Feldman at the OK Hotel. http://twitpic.com/2lb7pd
Jamie Lidell
Jamie Lidell's looped-up echo/flange beatbox vocals + live drum programming = new-school soul at #Bumbershoot.
Justin Townes Earle: part Buddy Holly, part Willie Nelson. Jamie Lidell: part James Brown, part Skolnick from Revenge of the Nerds.
last time I saw jamie lidell live, he was in a bathrobe. tonight he's in a hammock-looking blazer. always keeping it funky.
Neko Case

Is that the sun setting? Or just Neko Case's flame-red hair at dusk?
Balkan Beat Box
Balkan Beat Box, the ultimate bar mitzvah band. http://twitpic.com/2le00s
Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan at #Bumbershoot: old grumbling/croaking man fronts crackin country rock band, pulls it off?
No photos during Bob Dylan's set, and he is facing the side of the stage, but place is packed w people who can say they've seen him live.
Disappointed no Dylan photo pit. At least I can say I heard him from very far away while staring at the back of stranger's heads.
Horse Feathers
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez / The Seattle Times
Portland band Horse Feathers vocals, banjo and strings are sweet like pancake syrup. Crowd is hanging on Justin's every note.
Fresh Espresso

Photos by Erika Schultz / The Seattle Times
I like P Smoov's more somber production on these Fisher Green speakers. Punchy but mellow on "Right Here" and "Sunglasses." #Bumbershoot
Fan review of Fresh Esp at #Bumbershoot: "Started out great, then lagged, then picked up again. I have all their albums." Dez only 1 tho...
Georgia Anne Muldrow & Declaime
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez / The Seattle Times
Georgia and Declaime over Flying Lotus is anti-carbon copy rap-singing. #Bumbershoot
I didn't know Georgia could snap like that. I knew she could ramble-sing around a melody like that, tho. #Bumbershoot
Comedy Loves Music!
nick thune @ #bumbershoot comedy stage south: like a family-friendly Mitch Hedberg w a guitar. string of unrelated surreal comedy bits.
garfunkle & oates @ #bumbershoot: comedians are cutesy about being judgemental behind guitar & ukelele. best lines were in their crass rap
David O'Doherty gets big laughs in #bumbershoot comedy/music set. discusses overusing superlatives & sending texts to person text was about
Jay Electronica
Click photo for gallery; Photo by Genevieve Alvarez
Jay Electronica just rapped about DMT, erotic asphyxiation, and the truth behind 9/11 w 100 people onstage and a 11-year-old guest rapper.
Jay Electronica is a great rapper. Candid, funny, so many unexpected turns of phrase, and every word intelligible. #Bumbershoot
Bouncing Souls

Photos by Genevieve Alvarez / The Seattle Times
Hole
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez
About to see Hole at #bumbershoot. At the very least, Courtney can be proud her old babydoll, dark-lipstick style is present in the crowd.
Hole so far surprisingly non-trainwrecky. Still 40 minutes to go tho. http://twitpic.com/2lpk6g
C-Love doing an acoustic rendition of Pearl Jam's "Jeremy." Here's the bizarre awful we've been waiting for.
The Physics
The Physics' town rap w/uncheesy live band = EMP is a two-stepper's paradise. #Bumbershoot
Weezer
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez
Totally unexpected, but Weezer is my fav #bumbershoot performance so far. Thanks to nostalgia and the serious crowd sing-a-long happening.
Rivers disappears from stage and ends up in the bleachers. Then sings MGMT and Lady Gaga covers. Bananas.
I stand corrected re: Weezer. That was the most fun set of #Bumbershoot so far.
I was transported back in time as Weezer played 'El Scorcho' and 'My name is Jonas' from the Mainstage. #bringhomethebacon
Fatal Lucciauno
The Clientele
Photo by Mark Harrison / The Seattle Times
The Clientele sounding hypno/Anglo, slightly R&B but mostly drizzly Telecaster pop at #Bumbershoot.
Helladope
Lots of parents who brought their kids to helladope's show are nodding their heads to 'shine on.' Awesome. #bumbershoot
Kings Go Forth
Kings Go Forth wicked disco-jazz slickness http://twitpic.com/2lyrsr
THEESatisfaction
THEESatisfaction at #Bumbershoot: space-rap resonates with mansion in Medina, bench in the park.
THEESatisfaction at #Bumbershoot: "It's not that we don't trust the police / but we don't want to be dead next week."
The Moondoggies
Moondoggies in the rain. How Seattle is that?
Moody, rainy jams from @themoondoggies. #bumbershoot http://twitpic.com/2lz8s8
"Burning out feels a lot like love / it keeps you struggling with the could'ves" -kevin murphy at #Bumbershoot
J. Cole
J. Cole is a bit self deprecating in between songs but the ladies love him. They go coconuts when he takes his camo coat off. #bumbershoot
Anvil
Anvil + Monorail = two antiquated, very cool things made out of metal. http://twitpic.com/2m00ii
Bomba Estereo
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez
Colombian electro-folk band Bomba Estereo covered 'Pump Up the Jam.' Incredible vocal energy from muchacha bonita Liliana Saumet.
Jenny & Johnny
New band Jenny & Johnny: sweet harmonies, wry lyrics warm up a cool evening at Mural Amphitheatre.
Drake
Click photo for gallery; photo by Genevieve Alvarez
Drake at #Bumbershoot: stadium-rap band w/keys and axe solos (behind the head), Seinfeld bass, arena drums. Crowd knows every word.
That high-pitched wail you hear is the sound of a thousand tweenage girls screaming for Drake. #bumbershoot
Drake is kinda gross with the nonstop sex/money game, then the ultra-emo switch up. And crass like a kid. R&Bemo is a lie. #Bumbershoot
Drizzly for Drizzy Drake. Made w Pano. #bumbershoot http://plixi.com/p/43714274
Angélique Kidjo
Angelique Kidjo on Fisher Green stage at #Bumbershoot: Pure, percussive panache.
Glad I can catch Angelique Kidjo's joyful performance after Drake's somewhat-depressing set. Energetic note to leave #bumbershoot on
Surfer Blood
Surfer Blood, Space Needle. Glamorous indie rock music. http://twitpic.com/2m0inf
Surfer Blood is halfway to sounding like a real band right now. Something's lacking. And they're extremely awkward onstage.
Laura Veirs
Take Laura Veirs back to school this fall. Brainy folk rock perfect for the dorm room.
The Thermals
Thank you Thermals for closing down #bumbershoot w proper NW chutzpah.
It's late, it's cold, it's wet, but there are still thousands here watching the Thermals and the English Beat. Props to SEA and to Bshoot.
