Compare wage data for state employees and other Washington workers
To understand how state pay stacks up against other employers, The Seattle Times compared wage data for state employees in specific occupational categories versus all other Washington workers in those same categories. The data, which come from the Occupational Employment Statistics survey, do not include pensions, health insurance or other benefits, and the "nonstate" category includes federal and local-government employees. To compare pay in a particular occupation, first select one of the major categories, then choose one of the more specific categories within it.
