THEATRE Auditions for the Summer teen musical, "Guys and Dolls," will be held from 7-9:30 p.m. on May 20-21at Carco Theatre, 1717 S.E. Maple Valley Highway, Renton, WA 98057. Open casting call for teens ages 13 — 19. Show will run July 27-Aug. 5. Please prepare a one — minute monologue and 32 bars of music. Bring a headshot and resume along with your sheet music (an accompanist will be provided). This is a tuition based program the fee is $200. MUSIC The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is now accepting students for their 2012 Shoreline Jazz Camp. The camp is held Aug. 6 — 10, 13 and 14. Shoreline Jazz Camp is for middle and high school students. The mission of the Shoreline Jazz Camp is to provide young musicians the opportunity to learn and play with some of the region's most accomplished teachers and performers. The jazz camp is at Shorewood High School for students currently in grades 7-12. The cost is $315 and some scholarships are available. Applications are available online now at www.shorelinearts.net. VISUAL ARTS The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs seeks an artist or artist team to develop site-integrated artwork for Seattle Public Utilities' (SPU) Lower Mapes Creek Restoration Project in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood. The artwork project is in partnership with SPU and Seattle Parks and Recreation. The artist will be encouraged to include a variety of media in the artwork and to incorporate themes related to the restored functions of Mapes Creek. The artwork will be installed near the creek restoration project area in Beer Sheva Park or along 52nd Avenue South between South Fisher Plaza and Lake Washington Apartments' plaza at South Henderson Street. The call is open to professional artists residing in the United States. Application deadline is 11 p.m., Friday, May 18. A link to the online application is available at www.seattle.gov/arts. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is now accepting students for their 2012 August Arts Camp. 2012 August Arts Camp is a week-long program where students explore the arts with accomplished artist-educators. Students choose one core class, a main area of interest and two elective classes to complete their day. Core classes include: Reed Sculpture, Textile Arts, Drawing & Painting, Theater Arts, Hip Hop Dance and Steel Drums. Elective classes include: Blacklight Batik, Needle & Wet Felting, Bookmaking, Theater Arts, Hip Hop Dance and Steel Drums. The program is open to students who have completed 3rd — 6th grade and want to learn more about the arts. Register early as each class is limited to 12 students and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served, space available basis. Tuition is $210 if paid by May 31, 2012 and $230 after. OTHER SketchFest Seattle is now accepting submissions for their 14th annual sketch comedy festival to be held this Fall in Seattle. Tentatively set to run from Sept. 29-Oct. 6, the festival takes place over two weekends and covers the gamut of comedic events including a local sketch comedy showcase, a film festival and a 2-day out-of-town showcase with all sorts of fun supporting events in between for audience and performers alike. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is looking for volunteers for our upcoming Shoreline Arts Festival to be held June 23-24. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages, including teens 16 and older who are looking to fill community service hours. First Century's Got Talent Night is seeking singers, dancers, musicians, hula-hoopers and magicians. Four rounds of juried competitions will take place on the second Saturdays in April, May, June and July. Performers only need to compete in one of the primary rounds. First place winners of each month will move to the final round and compete on the main Century Ballroom stage for a cash prize.
