Coinstar's stock shot up nearly 16 percent Monday in an eventful day that began with its Redbox unit announcing it's joining with Verizon to deliver both Internet streaming video and physical movie rental. Later, the Bellevue company announced it also plans to buy a DVD-rental business operated by NCR and that its fourth-quarter profit more than doubled.
