Congressman pushes Mobilisa's product

At a Congressional hearing in late October, U.S. Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Bremerton, implores two Homeland Security officials to consider an ID-card reader made by Mobilisa, whose owners are regular campaign donors to Dicks. Mobilisa's product, however, cannot read the advanced chip embedded in a new identity card being issued to protect the nation's ports and ships. Edmond "Kip" Hawley, adminstrator of the Transportation Security Administration, and Adm. Brian Salerno of the U.S. Coast Guard say they are following the rules set down by Congress to find the right ID-card reader.
